Rome Trip

Off to Rome tomorrow (6th March 2012) until Friday shooting, so very excited about that. Will be using my beloved Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 for all of my walking about and general tourist photography, as its fixed 20mm F1.8 lens is amazing, and the whole thing fits in my pocket!

Digital tech is great, but its just unrealistic to take my Canon SLR`s with 70-200m Lenses out for a sightseeing trip. I`d love to, but aside from the obvious security issues, they’re so heavy! I now use black rapid straps to make the weight lesser over my shoulders, and they help alot (as well as have funky pouchs for memory cards etc) but “bridge” cameras like the Lumix are awesome. Definitely a must for any photographers kitbag.

These images were taken on a recent trip to Mexico – great aren’t they? I’ll be putting some Rome shots on here next week, so check back then!
